Welcome! I’m Rebecca, a licensed psychologist. In my private practice, I have extensive experience in helping adults (18-64) to navigate relationship challenges, stressors, life transitions, anxiety, depression, emotional neglect, skin picking and hair pulling, and dealing with life if you happen to be a highly sensitive person (HSP).

I use an integrated and holistic approach to address your concerns, promote your growth, and expand and strengthen your sense of self. By doing so, you can build a more meaningful life and create more satisfying connections and relationships.

We can partner together to address a variety of concerns, such as:

  • finding new ways to relate to other people and creating more satisfying relationships

  • adjusting to the demands of life transitions, including breakups, divorce, and other losses

  • getting through graduate school

  • starting a new phase of your career or encountering career-related stressors

  • dealing with the aftermath of emotional neglect

  • understanding, feeling, and deciding if and how to express your emotions

  • changing your ways of dealing with conflict and relationship stressors

  • developing more internal and interpersonal supports

  • getting your needs met as a highly sensitive person (HSP)

  • figuring out what’s next in a life that feels complex and uncertain

  • dealing with hair pulling, skin picking or other body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs)

I have over 10 years of experience working with adults (ages 18–64) in private practice with the above concerns as well as three years working in university counseling centers.

  • As an undergraduate, I majored in music and human relations and continued on to become an occupational therapist (OT). While working as an occupational therapist, I discovered my love of working with people in mental health.

  • During my time at GIC, I connected more fully to my passion for supporting people’s ability to grow and change. I continued to expand my skills professionally and to grow personally. It felt like a perfect fit for who I was and the way I wanted to work with people.

  • Both occupational therapy and Gestalt share a holistic, client-centered approach. I wanted to go deeper and bring that rich, affirming work into my work with individuals.

Becoming a psychologist was my way to do that — to take what I had quietly been doing as a mental health OT and offer it in a more intentional, expanded, and transformative way using what I’d learned at GIC.

  • I wrote my dissertation on “Body Responsiveness, Body Awareness, Alexithymia and Eating Attitudes and Behaviors in University Students.” Currently, I am a PA Licensed Psychologist as well as a National Board Certified Occupational Therapist.

I love finding ways of integrating my OT knowledge and skill into my work as a psychologist by using a holistic approach, using mind-body methods, sensory modulation techniques, expressive therapy modalities, and experiential therapies.

  • They’ve allowed me to develop my interest in listening, understanding people, being present and mindful, and exploring what gives meaning to life.

I relish helping people find meaningful connections to others while deepening their relationships to themselves, supporting people to connect to passions and activities that are life-giving, and accompanying people as they work through challenging life transitions.

  • I completed a fourth year of post-graduate training at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, and additional consultation in using expressive therapy modalities in psychotherapy.

I am certified by TLC’s Professional Training Institute to work with people with BFRBs, and I am a Trained EMDR therapist. I also am a highly sensitive person (HSP)-knowledgeable therapist.
